SHORT BIO

Japheth Ogol has a BSc in Public Health (Population) from Kenyatta University and an MSc in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST). He is currently pursuing his PhD in Health Systems Strengthening for Research and Management of Diabetes and Hypertension at JOOUST in collaboration with the University of Antwerp, Belgium. His PhD title is “Efficiency and Feasibility of Service Delivery Redesign for Diabetes and Hypertension Management in Lake Victoria Basin: A Repeated Cross-Sectional (RCS) Design.” The study aims to strengthen primary health systems and improve the management of non-communicable diseases like diabetes and hypertension, which are increasing in prevalence in the Lake Victoria region of Kenya. Japheth has over 10 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, having worked with organizations like the Ipas Africa Alliance, Room to Read, and GiveDirectly. He is skilled in digitalizing tools using ODK, SurveyCTO, ComCare, CSPro, data collection, analysis using STATA, R, SAS, and SPSS, data analytics and visualizations using PowerBI and Tableau, report writing, and capacity building. Japheth also has publications in peer-reviewed journals and frequently presents at conferences on public health and education topics. He is interested in NCDs, Primary healthcare/low-level health systems, Health systems strengthening, Monitoring and evaluation, analysis and use of data for decision making, Capacity building of healthcare workers and improving NCD management and patient outcomes.
